Lisbon: Recipes from the Heart of Portugal

Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Europe, bears the influence of centuries of rulers: Greek, Carthaginians, Romans, North Africans, and finally, European Christians. Each contributed to Lisbon’s rich cuisine.

In the introduction to Lisbon, Rebecca Seal and Steven Joyce share their love of this great city: “Some things will not change, though: the river Tagus will still lap the edges of the city. The sun will still beat down on the tiled houses and the gleaming churches. The bougainvillea will still let go of its scent at night. And sharing a meal will remain at the heart of life in Lisbon.”
